The hostal had an interesting contemporary interior design with designer bathrooms and Spanish high ceilings. It was clean and had a safe that was free (and easy) to use. Staff were friendly. The free bottles of water in the mini-fridge and the individual welcome packs with shampoos, lotions, toothbrush etc. were a nice touch. It was one of the more stylish places we had stayed in during our Europe trip.
It's actually about 20 minutes walk from the train station and not easy to find if you don't know Madrid. Breakfast was served at a restaurant around the corner, which is fine, but the atmosphere and service there was lacking and didn't match the hostal's service. We were put off by the dirty crockery and wet glasses we had to use for the buffet breakfast, and didn't regret missing breakfast on our second day. On a minor note, there's no door to separate the bathroom from the main room so privacy is somewhat lacking when using the toilet or shower.

Great location, and very friendly staff. The hotel has a printer ready for the guests' use which was really helpful for me. Breakfast was served at a nearby small coffee shop - and was always a good way to start my day. I would definitely stay here again if I were to return to Madrid.

Excellent central location, unique room configurations, vibrant nightlife accessibility
The noise from adjacent rooms disrupted my sleep!!! The inconsistent water heating. I wish there was better maintenance in the rooms to address the outdated decor and other issues!!!

The breakfast, which was served at a nearby cafe, was very good. The location was excellent.
It was very noisy at night. When I arrived from the metro station, I went into the entrance marked No. 4-6, which had a sign outside saying "Hostal Alhambra Suites", however it turned out that the main entrance was further down the road, at No. 8. I ended up at the back door and the lady at reception was very rude and told me off for this.

Consider requesting a room at the back to avoid nightlife noise, ensuring a quieter stay without missing out on the vibrant local scene.

For the money, this is an excellent hotel. Right off La Puerta del Sol, it is clean and looks recently refurbished. I take frequent trips to Madrid and I will be staying in Hostal Alhambra Suites again. I would ask for an interior room as that downtown area is busy all night long.

Excellently located near Puerta del Sol, restaurants, bars and shops. Friendly personnel, nice, large rooms with high ceilings and design touch with an acceptable price. Unfortunately there were protests for democracy/ unemployment towards the elections on del Sol which kept us from sleeping. But given the restaurant times and nightlife you don't want to sleep too mich anyway. If you want to sleep a bit quiet, ask for a room facing the back. The rooms on the front will give you more a city feeling though.

Location perfect, just off Puerto del Sol. Room clean, spacious with air conditioning, really liked in the summer heat. Staff helpful with local recommendations and assistance. Luggage storage available for convenience. The walls were thin. Noise from the hallway was quite noticeable. The breakfast served at a nearby café lacked variety and options, disappointing. Internet connection was poor in my room. Check-in took longer than expected due to some confusion. Despite the noise and breakfast issues, I enjoyed my stay overall.

It was a nice experience to stay in Hostal Alhambra Suites from check in to check out. My room was very spacious with a high ceiling, nicely decorated and very clean. Shampoo, body lotion...etc. Like stuff was provided in a nice packaging and I enjoyed the rain drop shower...
There was not a locker room to leave my suitcase after check out but it felt safe to leave it in the reception.

The rooms were large, well decorated and clean. The location was extremely close to Sol and easy to walk everywhere.
They describe themselves as Suites but the lounge area is not a separate room.
